Here at CAPI we understand that fear of the dental environment is a very real problem that many patients face. We realise that anxiety can prevent you from receiving the best treatment for your oral health, and our caring team have helped many patients over the years to overcome their perception of dentistry.
When you know and understand what will happen at your dental appointment before you attend it, you will feel more in control which will make you less anxious. We welcome our patients to arrange a complementary visit or a telephone call with our Treatment Co-ordinator, who will talk to you in a non-clinical environment over a cup of coffee and explain exactly what to expect at your dental appointment. Our Treatment Co-ordinator is also able to attend appointments with you, or to answer any questions about your treatment which you are unsure about. She is always only a phone call away.
Our friendly, gentle dentists will always give you the opportunity to voice your concerns, and listen to you with genuine interest. They will explain any proposed treatment to you in detail before commencing, and you will always have the opportunity to consider your options before you commit to treatment. All our dentists are used to working with nervous patients in a calm, respectful way and will use the latest techniques to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
We also offer intravenous sedation at the practice. Intravenous sedation is administered in your arm, or the back of your hand by an anaesthetist who will be with you in the room during the entire treatment. It is not a general anaesthetic, but you will most likely not remember much of the treatment afterwards.
You are not alone! We are here every step of the way to guide you and support you through your treatment.
