Dr Patel qualified from Kings College London Dental Institute in July 2012. She undertook her vocational training in a general dental practice in Sudbury, Suffolk, following which she worked in a number of dental practices in Essex. During this time, she wanted to continue to expand her skill set and returned to carry out Dental Foundation Training in Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. It was there she developed a keen interest in Periodontology and felt she wanted to pursue her career pathway in this field.
Dr Patel entered into Specialist training in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute in 2016 and completed this in 2019. She qualified with distinction and was awarded the Dean’s List Commendation. Dr Patel’s postgraduate qualification has provided her with a high level of clinical expertise in providing treatment for patients with complex periodontal needs and she is recognised as a Specialist by the General Dental Council.
Dr Patel is committed to continuing to progress in the field of Periodontology and works as a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute. This allows her to teach postgraduate students and develop her research.
When Dr Patel is not working she enjoys running.
